I sometimes watch DDD and really like the show. I've actually eaten at one of the places here in SF. (it was Joe's Cable Car). If I hadn't experienced it first hand I may have been tempted to attend. What was shown on TV was all pretty good however, like all the reviewed restaurants, no prices were mentioned.
Joe's has fairly good food. It's a burger place. The burgers are made from mostly chuck steak so not too expensive, right? Wrong! If I knew going in that I'd wind up spending over $23 for an (average size & quality) cheeseburger, fries and a soda, I would have gone elsewhere. I could have gotten a steak dinner for the same price.
So please do us, the viewing public, a favor and at least give us some of the prices of the food shown. I know this may not help the restaurant owners but it raises the credibility of DDD and would make it way more useful as a tool for deciding where to eat.
Now after the Joe's review and comparison of some other places introduced on the show, I have less faith in the opinions expressed there.
